Two Old Goats Essential Oil Lotions

Tired, sore muscles? For years, Two Old Goats Essential Oil lotions, balms, and creams have provided relief to thousands.

Two Old Goats’ products consist of pure, natural, therapeutic grade essential oils: lavender, chamomile, eucalyptus, rosemary, peppermint and birch bark in a goats milk base. This lotion is great for inflammation, aches, arthritis and fibromyalgia pain. It is not sticky or greasy and is made in the USA. The essential oil smell is pleasant and relaxing also.

Two Old Goats is in stock now at the pharmacy. We tried samples before bringing the product to our shelves, and we were pleasantly surprised with its pain relieving ability. Since Two Old Goats can also be used as a moisturizing lotion for hands, it is perfect for anyone with arthritis in their hands. In fact, Two Old Goats was developed by a quilter who suffered from arthritis and carpal tunnel and was looking for a lotion to use that wouldn't be greasy or stain the fabrics of the quilts she was working on. We have testers of the product and sample packages for you to try before you buy. However, most people start with the 2 oz. bottle of lotion and are not disappointed with the results they get!

In addition to the 3 sizes of lotions, we also carry the balm made with shea butter to help soften dry skin even more than the lotion, a bar soap, a bodywash--which can also be used as a bubble bath and bath crystals.
Point of Care Testing

Remember with colds, strep and flu season kicking into high gear, we are able to do rapid flu and strep testing.

Before you head to Urgent Care to sit for a few hours surrounded by other sick people, call Center Drug to make sure we have a Pharmacist on duty that can test you for flu or strep. This will save you lots of time, especially when you are not feeling well. If your test turns out positive, we can get you an antibiotic or antiviral due to a collaborative agreement we have with a physician. We will also notify your primary care physician of the results of the test and provide them with the information of any treatment that was provided to you.

However, if you are either pregnant or immunocompromised, we do suggest that you see your primary care provider for diagnosis and care.
People who have used our testing services have been very pleased with the treatment they have received along with the quick service turn-around time. As a reminder, the Strep test cost is $40 and the Flu test cost is $50.
Tips for avoiding illness this winter season:

* Get a flu shot if you haven't already.

* Wash your hands with soap and water for 15 seconds.

* Carry hand sanitizer with you for when soap and water are not available.

* If someone in your house is sick, wipe high-touch items like doorknobs, phones and remote controls with an alcohol-based wipe.

* Avoid touching your face, nose and eyes--this is how germs get introduced to your system.

* Don't re-use tissues, it is too easy to spread germs around. The rule: use once and done.

* Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and keep your immune system in top germ-slaying form. In addition, try to get 30 minutes of exercise a day and at least 6 hours of sleep each night to keep your immune system functioning well.

* Keep your skin moisturized. Germs can get in to small cracks and cuts in dry skin and make you sick.

* If you start feeling ill, try Zinc, Vitamin C, Emergen-C, or Elderberry lozenges to help soothe your symptoms and shorten your illness.

* If you feel sick--stay home, rest and stay well hydrated!

* Call your doctor if you have a fever higher than 100.4 F, or if you have had a cough or upper respiratory symptoms that have lasted 10 days or longer.
Is it a Cold or the Flu?

Colds symptoms are usually above your neck: runny nose, cough, sore throat, and other aches and pains. Your symptoms usually get worse slowly and may start with a scratchy throat, headache, slight aches and possibly a low-grade fever. You are still able to function--just maybe a bit slower. Drink plenty of fluids and treat your symptoms with a cough suppressant, acetaminophen or ibuprofen, and a decongestant.  Ask one of our Pharmacists for a recommendation on what you should take to treat your symptoms.

Flu symptoms are usually both above and below your neck. You have cold symptoms as well as a fever over 100 F, chills and all-over body aches. The flu hits you like a speeding train. One minute you are fine and the next you can barely function. You will have extreme fatigue and aches all over. You will be in bed for at least a few days. Within 48 hours of the onset of these symptoms is the time to get tested for the flu, and get a prescription for Tamiflu to help you feel better faster.
