JANUARY 2019 E-NEWSLETTER
A Message From Our President

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and I wish you all a productive and happy 2019. Here at Autism Society San Diego, we are happy to look back on another successful year of providing services and support to the local autism community in 2018, through our variety of support groups and family events, as well as programs like Camp I CAN, Surf Camp, Pool PALSAWARE, Family Camp, and much more! It is our pleasure to be able to offer these programs, and we can only do it with the support of this amazing community. If you wish to be a part of that, please feel free to make a donation here:   Donate Today. Together, we can all do our part to make a difference in people's lives!

In addition to our regularly scheduled events, there are two special events happening in January that I wanted to share with you. First, we are lucky to have been selected to be the beneficiary of an event happening at Alesmith Brewing - the One Piece at a Time benefit featuring the rock/reggae band The Feathered Fish, happening on January 9th! This family friendly event has no cover charge and will feature live music as well as an  art raffle with art works donated by very the  talented, local artists Collin Worrel and Jessica Krantz. All proceeds will go back to our organization. We would love to see you at this fun event!

Another great event happening in January will be a screening of the film Extraordinary People, happening on January 28th at the AMC Mission Valley TheatreExtraordinary People tells the story of six adults across the autism spectrum, who, despite individual challenges, have found meaningful value and a deep sense of pride from their work at a business called Extraordinary Ventures. The film redefines expectations for employers and society alike, and shows the essential role a job plays for not just these six individuals, but for all adults. Tickets are available here: Get Your Tickets Here.

Finally, due to the success of our Holiday Vendor Fair at Hops for Heroes at Stumblefoot Brewing in December, we will be hosting another vendor event there on Tuesday, January 8th. Join us for some fun conversation and shopping in a a welcoming, supportive, and family friendly atmosphere, and enjoy a cold beer knowing that $1 of each pint will be donated to Autism Society San Diego!

Wishing you a wonderful month,
Amy  Munera

ALL PROCEEDS GO TO AUTISM SOCIETY SAN DIEGO

When not on the road or playing music, members of The Feathered Fish work one-on-one with children with Autism back home in Virginia. Their only request was to perform for kiddos with Autism and their families, and have the opportunity to meet each and every one of you. The band felt close and connected to Autism Society San Diego which makes this event even more special. With the full support and dedication of AleSmith Brewery , we welcome ALL of you to the event on Wednesday, January 9, 2018.
