Library News and Events
Happy 2019!

It's that time of the year again! The time when we take
a moment to reset and make a list with the best intentions.
Or maybe you already have.

Exercise, clean eating, dieting, more time with loved ones, more time for oneself...sound familiar? Well, if you've been to the library lately it should! We've got books, magazines, and resources on all of these topics and more just waiting to inspire you. With the holiday season winding down and the start of the new year, now is the perfect time to apply the old adage "out with the old, in with the new." Not that the library would ever do that to our classics, but we do always get new materials!

In addition to our new materials, the Youth Services Department is offering a new Drop-in Craft program on the second Monday of each month. Come in and create! Youth Services is also starting a new round of story times so check the calendar to see what works best with your schedule. The teen department is continuing its Graphic Novel and Comic book Chats and offering a DIY and Craft Night as well.

The adult department's book discussion this month is about The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henriquez. The popular ESL Conversation Group and classes, language lab, and film and desserts will continue throughout the month. The month will conclude with a performance by the WE3 Band who will present Blowin' in the Wind: the genius of Bob Dylan.

Last month the library hosted several successful family programs including Winter Wonderland, the Nutcracker, and The Pirate, the Princess, and the Pea. The adult department offered workshops on cyber security and managing stress during the holiday season. The department rounded off the month with a performance by local jazz band the Frost Kings.
