Since opening our doors in 2000, CYT Kansas City has welcomed children of all abilities into theatre classes, camps and shows. Our inclusive doors have opened the hearts and minds of kids, adults and professionals throughout the years.
We have witnessed changes that go beyond words in students both with developmental disabilities and without. The success of the
HEART
program at CYT completely relies on the acceptance of each individual as they enter our doors. Inclusion provides a platform for children to learn together, accept each other and have fun together.
Our families share testimonies about the changes they see in each of their children that experience our inclusive environment. Students with developmental disabilities are allowed to be confident in who they are while feeling a strong sense of belonging. They grow in their social skills, their communication skills and in confidence and self-esteem as they learn to express themselves.
Theater education provides lifelong benefits to our lives and we believe it helps each of students become the very best they can be. Being involved in the HEART program at CYT Kansas City we see growth and improvement in the following areas:

Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
As we begin a new year, I am constantly thinking of the maybes and what ifs and possibilities of the future. God is so good and has great things in store for 2019. Pray with me this month for favor and blessings and clarity and restoration in 2019.
Lord, Thank you that Your plans are higher than ours. We ask for restored hope and more of Your presence this coming year. Thank You in advance for all you are going to do in 2019. Amen
