Journey to the Future in Full Swing By CEO, Nancy Johnson This coming year marks an important moment in our City’s history. This year we plan to move forward on renewing our community vision. The last time we engaged in a community planning process like the Citywide Master Plan, it was motivated by a hurricane. This time it’s about opportunity, and a desire for a shared vision. For TEAM it represents a return to our roots, and the emergence once again of our core mission, stewardship of community development.

TEAM’s Secret for Producing Results By Bill Welsch Volunteers from TEAM Punta Gorda, in collaboration with the City of Punta Gorda, convened a remarkable event this week, Journey to the Future, Let’s Learn Together. Some 700 citizens attended a free conference on January 7, where they were treated to presentations from a stable of nationally-renowned speakers discussing innovative approaches to urban planning and community development.  The purpose of the conference was to provide information to citizens that will

Pedal and Play in Paradise It’s the 10th Annual Punta Gorda Bike Event! Come join us on March 22 and 23 as we cruise the streets of Punta Gorda and beyond. Registration is open!  Friday is the City Managers Tour and after-ride social hour. Saturday is the 10-mile Mystery Ride and 15-, 30-, and 62-mile rides.  We have free stuff on Saturday! ...free breakfast and lunch, free beer and wine, free ice cream, free massages, and free yoga. What a ride!

TEAM Builds! Breaks Ground For the second consecutive year, TEAM has joined Charlotte County Habitat for Humanity to build a house for a low-income family. Ground breaking at the 328 E. Virginia Avenue home site was January 8! Volunteers will work Tuesdays and Thursdays through early April in hopes the family can move in by Easter. No experience or particular skills are necessary. Contractors are employed by Habitat to perform the more difficult tasks. Short on time? Consider a donation to help offset the cost of feeding and supplying the crew.
