Robot Revolution
Open during regular museum hours

Walk away with a new understanding about the next generation of innovators and inventions in our exhibit, Robot Revolution, presented by PNC Bank with contributing support from DENSO International America. Be captivated by real technologies used today, from technology in cars to the robots that clean our home, and even get the chance to control some of the robots on display! Robot Revolution is FREE with general admission.
Masco Free First Friday
February 7 | 5pm – 10pm

2020 is going to be the best year yet! Thanks to the Masco Corporation Foundation, Free First Fridays are here to stay, and this year they’re better than ever. In addition to FREE general admission to the Institute after 5pm every first Friday of the month, residents of metro Detroit communities will be selected each month to receive free tickets to our Acheson Planetarium.

For February’s Free First Friday, residents of Pontiac get free planetarium admission. Get out of the cold and into the Institute for science exploration!

Science Corner
A new mission to investigate exoplanets has rocketed into space! The new CHEOPS satellite is devoted to gazing at planets orbiting other stars for the next 3 ½ years. Unlike many other exoplanet missions, it will gather data on planets that have already been found outside the solar system, instead of searching for new planets.
