RETAIL SALES OF TOBACCO PRODUCTS

On December 20, 2019, President Trump signed legislation to amend the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, and raise the federal minimum age of sale of tobacco products from 18 to 21. It is now illegal for a retailer to sell any tobacco product - including cigarettes, cigars, and e-cigarettes - to anyone under age 21. More info at this  link

NOTE that current Iowa code still reflects minimum age of 18 to purchase these products; proposed State of Iowa legislation (which mirrors the Federal Law) will be introduced this legislative session and should address enforcement.
