A Word From Our
Executive Director
Dear Friends,

2020 A Year to Dream Big!

With 2020 vision, a promising year of events and initiatives are in store for the Alliance for Living and Dying Well.  We will continue to facilitate seven monthly community workshops on advance care planning in addition to the annual Get It Done Today! event on April 16 where 60 people will have the opportunity to receive Advance Care Planning counseling, complete their Advance Health Care Directive, and have it notarized all in one day.  In the Fall, members of the medical community and health care advocates will once again have the opportunity to hear about and discuss pressing issues in Advance Care Planning at our annual Advance Care Planning Symposium III. Finally, in an effort to support our partners in the retirement and faith communities as they weave Advance Care Planning into the life and fabric of their organizations, we will focus on the growth and development of new partnerships within the community.

We would love to support you in starting 2020 off by expressing your wishes in an Advance Health Care Directive. The Alliance looks forward to offering you guidance and support through group workshops and one-on-one facilitation as we begin talking with loved ones about our wishes and invite our loved ones to do the same.
Please contact the Alliance at 805-845-5314 to find out more.

Wishing you health and happiness in 2020!

With warm gratitude,
Susan Plummer, Exec. Director

Jeff Gould giving a Tedx Talk

Jeff Gould discusses "The Power of Dreams and Memories" and how this impacts our lives. Jeff Gould has managed a Funeral Planning department for 10 years. "The best part of what I do is the learning the stories and life lessons of families we serve. I meet people every day who may or may not be rich, but have led rich lives."

An accomplished speaker, Jeff speaks to thousands of people either in person, or on his annual Christmas Radio Program, A Prairie Christmas. He is a current board member of Tiger Nation, Sales and Marketing Executives and is a lay speaker at Hilltop United Methodist Church. Jeff and his wife Libby have four daughters and a 125 year old house that keep them busy.
