Site preparation has begun at City Harbor , a mixed-use project set to revitalize Ithaca's Waterfront.

The project will include:
  • 156 one- and two-bedroom residential units

  • A wellness center and additional amenities

  • Access to the new Guthrie Medical Office

  • A building heating and cooling system powered by an advanced, effluent-based system

  • A pedestrian promenade that will connect directly to the city’s Waterfront Trail and the Ithaca Farmers Market

The ninth round of   Regional Economic Development Council   (REDC) initiative awards were announced in late December.

The Southern Tier, was one of five top performers, receiving $88.9 million to support economic development projects. Tompkins County was awarded $13.8M for 31 Projects.

Projects awarded funding in Tompkins County include:

  • Transonic Systems – global competitiveness/automated manufacturing ($220,000)

  • YMCA of Ithaca – renovation to support increased childcare and community space ($1,184,000)

  • Coddington Road Community Center – childcare and afterschool care expansion and modernization ($700,000)

  • Enclose Cass Park Rink – ($523,269)

  • Downtown Ithaca Community Conference Center – ($5,000,000)
“We’re thrilled that these crucial Tompkins County projects – including the YMCA and the Downtown Conference Center, among others – have been awarded this state funding,” said Heather McDaniel, President, TCAD. “This will allow these projects and improvements to proceed, furthering the region’s ongoing growth.”
Ithaca Tompkins International Airport officially opened on December 20th following months of construction to complete an extensive $34.8M expansion and renovation project and the results are outstanding!

Educational Technology Day is a free regional technology event that attracts over 1,600 people annually from upstate New York featuring over 60 local and national vendors including Apple, Dell, Microsoft, Oracle, along with over 50 seminars. Attendee registration is free.
