January, 2020
Dear Chamber
Members,

New Years has always been one of my favorite times of the year. Perhaps it is because I have always enjoyed a good “year in review.” It might be a product of growing up in the 90’s, with EVERY demographic, genre, niche and channel hosting their own recap show. Whatever the reason, I find myself strangely driven to create one for myself… The problem is that at this time of the holiday season, I can hardly remember what I did yesterday!

Earlier last year Lisa Taubner, our longtime Administrative Assistant, left us for a simpler life of semi-retirement. While we never thought we would find someone to fill Lisa’s shoes, Sarah McCraw has given us a fresh, new perspective. Paired with the addition of Annalise Jasinski as Tourism Promotion and Special Events Coordinator, our team has experienced quite an evolution. With Pam King at the helm, our office has not missed a step, and has even introduced several new events and opportunities for involvement in 2019 to our existing slate. Our staff oversaw the addition of the Food Truck Tour, Unique Boutique, and the procurement of a JEM grant (Joint Effort Marketing) from the State Department of Tourism to develop and implement marketing strategies designed to increase user ship of the Ozaukee County Interurban Trail. There was also the revitalization of our Young Professionals group. These three women deserve all the credit for keeping the Grafton Area Chamber of Commerce as relevant as it has ever been for our members.

If you would like to know more about the progress and changes the Chamber has made over the past year please join us for the State of the Community Luncheon on Wednesday, January 29 th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the River Room on the Milwaukee. Community leaders including myself, Village President Jim Brunquell, Town of Grafton Chairman Lester Bartel and Grafton School District Superintendent Jeff Nelson will present highlights on our community from 2019 and look ahead to 2020. Thank you all for being a part of another wonderful year.

Sincerely,

Dustin Beck
