Ivory Updates
Although no new ivory laws went into effect so far in 2020, laws remain in place at both the federal level and in nine states. New Hampshire and Illinois become the eighth and ninth states to adopt legislation limiting ivory sales in 2019 joining California, Hawaii, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Washington and Oregon. All except New Jersey include exemptions for musical instruments. PTG has information specific to ivory issues affecting piano technicians at www.ptg.org/ptgmain/technicians/resources/regulatory-issues .
PTG Going Green
As adopted in 2005, the Council Book of Resolutions states, "Home Office and PTG membership shall be environmentally aware." Over the last year, the HO has been working towards eliminating the printing and mailing of such things as newsletters, supplements, invoices and monthly statements. 2020 dues invoices were sent via email, so please  update your profile online  or contact the HO if we do not have your current contact information.
