January Teen Events
Check It Out Book Group
Friday, Jan 3 from 3-4pm and Wednesday, Jan 29 from 3-4pm
The Check It Out Book Group is a new group for teens in grades 6-12. There's no assigned books to read - instead come prepared to talk about your favorite books, the book you just read, and the books on your TBR (to be read) pile.

We'll start by playing a quick ice breaker game before moving on to the main event - discussing books! If we have time, or if there's a lull in the conversation the Teen Librarian will share some of the newest YA books as well as highlight books from a particular genre (think: romance, dystopia, mystery, etc).

This free program is open to teens in grades 6-12. Snacks will be served. Sign up is suggested but not required - you can just come!

Participants attending this program can earn their Hogwarts Library badge, as part of our  Reading is Magic program .
Crystal Ball Workshop
Saturday, Jan 11 - Various Sessions
Create a crystal ball and earn your Divination badge as part of our Winter Reading Program.
Participants attending this program can earn their Divination badge, as part of our  Reading is Magic program .
This free program is open to adults, teens (grades 6-12) and kids (grades K-5). Children in grades K-2 must have a parent or guardian in the program room to assist if needed. Supplies will be provided for you.

Each session is limited to 8 participants. Each participant must register separately. Parents/guardians are welcome to create their own project while assisting a younger participant but they must also register for a slot.
This program will be held in the Youth Services Program Room at the GPL Temporary Location. In order to keep the day running smoothly, please arrive 5 minutes early so that each session can start promptly.

Only one crystal ball/slot/sign up per person. Duplicate registrations will be deleted. If there is a high demand for this program, additional afternoon sessions may be added.
Dungeons & Dragons
Friday, Jan 17 from 5-9pm
Join us for an evening of D&D. This event, run by teens for teens, is great for beginners or seasoned players. Teens are encouraged to bring their own character sheets, dice and Player's Handbook with them, but there will also be additional copies to use at the event. If you don't know how to play - don't worry, this group will help you get set up.

Since this is a teen-run event, if we do not have enough DMs (Dungeon Masters) by 5:30pm the event will be cancelled.

Pizza and snacks will be provided. This free event is for teens in grades 6-12.
