Upcoming farm and garden classes
Centennial Farm's weekend farm and garden classes have resumed in the new year, and there are two classes in January that we think you'll love.

  • Food Preservation - Jan. 25: This class will bring you up to date on the latest food preservation recommendations, teach you how to process your food safely and tell you why you are doing it that way. You will learn what equipment is needed and proper storage methods. In addition, you will discover ways to save money and prolong the life of your fruits and vegetables, all while reducing food waste and eating healthier without additives.

The topic for the class on Jan. 11 has yet to be determined, so keep an eye on ocfair.com/gardenclasses for more details.
Reminder: Sound advisory for Winter Fest OC fireworks
A reminder that Winter Fest OC is still going on and includes nightly pyrotechnics during a parade that begins around 5:30 p.m. The sound will be similar to the pyrotechnics display that takes place every night during the annual OC Fair.

The sound advisory is in effect through Jan. 5.

For more information on this annual event, visit winterfestoc.com . For those interested in purchasing tickets, use code OCFAIR for a discount on platinum passes.

Thank you in advance for your understanding, and please contact ocfinfo@ocfair.com with any questions or concerns.
CEO's Corner

Season’s Greetings and Happy New Year!

Since this is my first CEO Corner as your new CEO, I wanted to take a moment to tell you how thrilled I am to be appointed to lead the amazing team at OC Fair & Event Center. What we do is special and important, and I am fortunate to work with such a strong team of individuals who care very much about each other, our guests and this great community asset.

I joined the organization in early 2002 when OC Fair's attendance was just 898,197. We were a 17-day fair at that time, but grew to 21 days and then eventually to 23 days. I experienced the re-opening of the Pacific Amphitheatre, surpassing one million in attendance at the 2007 OC Fair, the construction of the Hangar and redesign of Main Mall, the installation of the agricultural workers memorial public art piece, the creation of the Heroes Hall veterans museum and education center, and so much more.

I’ve seen tremendous growth and improvements along the way … and a few challenging times, too. But the one constant that has sustained OC Fair & Event Center over the years is the passion our staff and community have for what we do. It’s the partnership between those who want to create and those who want to learn, explore and have fun that makes OC Fair & Event Center such a special place to work and to visit.

As we leave 2019 behind us and set our sights on 2020, I hope you will join me in celebrating our great community and all that OC Fair & Event means to it.

Sincerely,
