January 2021
Winter/Spring 2021 Update
I was looking through last years January newsletter and I was writing about how cold it was, -24 degrees! I'll take this weather and sun anyday over that.

We hope everyone had a good "holiday" (don't worry, we never got to travel to Hawaii either...) We are all back at it this week, most parents are juggling home schooling and work so we are sending you positive thoughts and patience.
We have updated our Winter/Spring calendar online and all courses can be found here. We have pushed back dates for our in person courses until Feb/March. In the mean time if you would rather take a course online we have plenty of options. A few ideas are listed below but there are more on our website. As always if you have any questions please email us as cstudiesmedicinehat@mhc.ab.ca

Happy New Year!

The month of January derives its name from a two-faced God named Janus. Janus' one face looked forward while the other looked backward.

The most common resolution made is to increase the amount of exercise that one gets (it is estimated that 37% of resolutions are this one!)

Persistence pays off... Of those who successfully achieved their top resolution, only 40% of them did so on the first attempt. The rest made multiple tries, with 17% finally succeeding after more than 6 attempts.
Listening to music while exercising can improve work out performance by 15%.
New Year is celebrated by several special foods in different countries. For example, in Southern US, Ireland, Germany and Italy leafy greens and legumes are associated with financial fortune.
