"I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re doing something."

LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR
Happy New Year Govs!

I hope you enjoyed the winter break. You survived Fall 2020, and I know you are more than ready to rock Spring 2021! As always, Distance Education is here to provide support every step of the way. In December, we announced the results of the LMS RFP. We are pleased to announce that the D2L and APSU partnership will continue for another five years. There are a few more details about that partnership in the December newsletter, so if you missed it, you can always check out our website. All past newsletters are always posted there.

This spring, our Support Desk will continue to be closed to walk-ins, but e-mails and phone calls will get you connected to a support desk technician. We have some exciting things planned for this term, so be on the lookout for new material from the department. We always welcome your feedback too. So please don’t ever hesitate to reach out. Customer service continues to be our priority and we want to make sure we are meeting our stakeholder needs. Have a great year!

WINTER TERM ENROLLMENTS SOAR DURING THE PANDEMIC
Thanks to efforts of Austin Peay State University’s talented faculty and staff, the Winter Term enrollments increased during the coronavirus pandemic. In 2021, the duplicated headcount increased from 882 in 2020 to 936 in 2021, and the unduplicated headcount increased from 686 in 2020 to 711 in 2021.

In addition to enrollment growth, the number of sections and courses offered also increased. The number of courses offered grew from 63 courses in 2020 to 74 courses in 2021, and the number of sections offered increased from 66 sections in 2020 to 79 sections in 2021.

The enrollment update is a snippet of the good news we have to share in 2021. Stay tuned for more winter term updates during the annual end or term meeting later this spring.
