January Education Explore
Each month's Education Explore Newsletter will have updates from Prince William Public Libraries (PWPL), as well as information on an amazing digital resource available through our Digital Library, free to all library card holders.
Career Online High School Program
Do you know someone who has expressed interest in completing high school? PWPL is seeking applications for adult students to enroll in Career Online High School (COHS), an online high school diploma and career certification program available through PWPL, at no cost to the student. Prince William County and Manassas City residents who are at least 20 years old, have successfully completed 8th grade, and who wish to earn their high school diploma may be eligible. Check out this video for more details.
PWPL Receives Grant to Support ESL Classes and Programs Thanks To Prince William County Schools
In December, PWPL Foundation received a TESOL/Tina B. Carver grant to purchase teaching materials for ESL classes and programs. A big thank you goes to Prince William County School's Christina J. Lo, Supervisor of EL Instruction at the Office of English Learner Programs and Services, who is also a TESOL member. Christina made it possible for us to apply for the grant. Thank you!
PWPL hopes it can return the favor. If you need a collaborator, partner, or a letter of support for a grant proposal, please contact Michaela Hamiary Janotova, PWPL's Marketing and Public Relations Specialist, at [email protected] and [email protected] for more information.
Interested in partnering with the library? We would love to work with you! Whether it is special virtual programs, or conducting library card drives to ensure students have access to our materials, our amazing staff are here to support you. Email [email protected], or contact the library.
TumbleMath provides the amazing resources of TumbleBooks, with a special math focus! Animated picture books, read-along chapter books, National Geographic videos, non-fiction books, playlists --- it is the most comprehensive collection of math picture books for students in grades K - 6.
These helpful resources are free with your library card. To check out these resources, visit pwcgov.org/library, click on "Digital Library," then select TumbleMath using your 14-digit library card barcode to log in. Please note that these resources are only available with the physical library card, not our digital library card.

- Visit pwcgov.org/library to start the application.
- Follow the prompts for a temporary digital library card.
- To upgrade to a physical library card, call any PWPL branch.
*Remember: Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian complete the online registration or sign the paper registration.
