Hello GRAPE Members,
I want to congratulate each and every one of you. You all have survived 2020. What 2020 showed us is that we are more creative, flexible, determined and tenacious than we ever thought we could be or would need to be. We found new ways to provide, advocate, care for and protect the seniors in our community.
With Carol’s leadership and our dedicated committees’ hard work, GRAPE adapted and adjusted as well to provide for our members. The educational programs were shifted to a virtual format in May and continue in that format for the safety of all members. During the warmer months there were outdoor events or venues to allow members that felt comfortable doing so to meet in person. There have been smaller indoor events set up as well with safety protocols in place for opportunities to meet. We held a virtual health fair that was very successful and once things calm down again, we look forward to scheduling more health fairs.
Given the promise of the New Year and with the introduction of the COVID vaccine, it looks as if we may be turning a corner in fighting and surviving the pandemic. We are all hopeful that things will go back to “normal” in 2021 and that the year ahead looks different from what we endured in 2020.
I would also like to thank all our members (sponsors too) for their continued dedication and commitment to GRAPE’s mission and vision. Our members are the organization and we would not be here without all of you.
Happy New Year to our resilient and amazing GRAPE Members!
All My Best,
Kim
