January Newsletter- 2021
Dear Members
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. The holidays have always been a special time for me, my family and the extended family of Country Club Members. I truly hope that each of you enjoyed this delightful time of year and were able to spend a lot of time with those you love. At the Club, we are looking forward to a prosperous 2021.
As many of you may have heard, the new year brought us devastating news with the death of 18 year-old Mia Kritis, one of our servers in the restaurant. Mia lost her life in a senseless act of violence shortly after midnight on New Year’s Day. Her fellow employees are heart-broken about losing their beloved friend and we are helping her parents deal with this horrific tragedy as best we can. Hopefully, you will find it in your heart to help Mia’s family give her the memorial she deserves. Please see more information included in this newsletter.
COVID19 was certainly the story of 2020. I feel as a Club and Membership we have dealt with the pandemic very well. I certainly appreciate the Members and Staff adhering to the protocols we have put in place to mitigate the spread of this disease. I also truly appreciate the Members increased usage of the Club which helped make up for deficits in our operations with Golf Outings and Banquets. The virus is still affecting the world we live in now and I highly encourage everyone to be as prudent as possible with safety measures going forward.
Membership sales across the board from Fitness to Golf are essential for the success of our Club. At any private country club, the best membership prospects come from the existing members. I highly encourage each of you to talk to a friend, neighbor or colleague about all Dakota Dunes Country Club has to offer. This month we are offering a referral program for all new Fitness Members. Please contact Jeremy Heizelman at the Club for details on the referral program and with any prospective member you may have. We had a lot of success in 2020 and hope to keep this momentum going.
I am very proud to be your General Manager. If you would like to chat about anything, please stop by the club and see me or send me an email. I’m here for you.

Dear Members,

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you one of our staff members, Mia Kritis, was killed shortly after midnight January 1st. We do not have many details as to what happened except that she was a victim of senseless violence. Mia was beloved by her fellow employees at the Club and will be incredibly missed by us all. Mia was an 18 year-old Senior at North High School who was planning to go to nursing school after graduation. She certainly had a bright future ahead of her. The staff will be wearing ribbons in her memory, and we will do all we can to help her family deal with this horrific tragedy. With this in mind, below is a GoFundMe link if you would like to show your support to the family and assist in giving Mia a proper memorial.
