On behalf of the Lisle Area Chamber’s Board of Directors, welcome to 2021! I would like to thank Christopher Pellico, 2020 Chair and Jill Eidukas, Executive Director as well as the rest of the Board, Committee members, Ambassadors, volunteers and members for the great ideas, leadership and inspiration to pull us through 2020 and set us on the right path for 2021. Without your leadership, experience and expertise we wouldn’t be where we are today.
For those of you who may not know me, my name is Christopher Buehler, and I am the Director of Recreation for Four Lakes Recreation/Alpine Snowsports, right here in Lisle. I’ve lived in Lisle my whole life and have worked in Lisle since I was able to start work. I’m proud to call this amazing small town my place of work, and where my childhood home is. I would like to invite all members and potential members of the Chamber to please email me if you have any questions, comments, concerns, ideas, or if you just want to chat and learn more about our wonderful chamber. 2021 won’t bring us back to what was normal, not right away at least, and while we still have to remain vigilant and cautious, I hope that throughout 2021 we can begin to see each other (safely of course) and return to what was our previous iteration of normal.
The Lisle Area Chamber is such a unique and valuable resource to all of us in this town and the surrounding communities, and I encourage you to reach out to me, Jill or Claudine if you have questions, ideas, or want to advertise a job posting or event. We ran a job posting with the Chamber and filled our open positions while receiving over 60 high quality applications through our Chamber job posting. The reach, and effectiveness of our Chamber is a unique and strong tool that I encourage you to use to bolster business throughout 2021.
I look forward to seeing and chatting with all of you throughout 2021, and hope that you, your employees, families and friends have a healthy, prosperous and safe New Year!

It’s a brand new year and maybe you are thinking why join a Chamber or renew your membership? With Chamber membership, you receive member only perks, exclusive member advertising listings and additional advertising in our Membership Directory & Community Profile as well as in our upcoming Community Map, networking opportunities, and a great deal of exposure for your business.
Membership not only strengthens your search engine optimization (SEO)’s on the web but allows you to market to portions of the community you might not have been able to reach before. Visibility and a connection to your community is important especially now. It is important to be informed with local, state and federal programs offered to businesses and with Chamber membership, you will be kept up to date on pertinent information for your business.
We might not be able to meet in person but Zoom keeps us connected to our members. It has been an important tool to help our members network. Networking helps establish beneficial relationships with other businesses and within our Chamber we are working hard to help our members create those lasting business relationships.
Did you know that some members offer Member to Member Discounts or promote hot deals and specials on our website? We also offer the opportunity to post a job opening your business might have on our job search section of our website. Your business also has the opportunity to sponsor Chamber events. We also have a Chamber table at the French Market that runs from May-September and with your Chamber membership, you can leave your company's promotional literature at our Chamber table. If your business is interested in any of these Chamber benefits, please contact us and we would be happy to help you and your business with those additional Chamber member opportunities.
We have been sending out e-blasts to 20,000 email addresses per month. This is just one more Chamber membership benefit that enhances your company's visibility. We are continuing to offer those for free. Please contact Claudine Rummer to set up your free e-blast.

Virtual Annual Meeting 2020 |

The Annual Meeting was held virtually this year. The 2020 Chair of the Board of Directors, Christopher Pellico of Navistar, Inc., thanked the 2020 Board of Directors for serving on the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce Board. He also introduced the 2021 Board Chair, Christopher Buehler of Four Lakes Recreation. Christopher Buehler inducted the 2021 Board of Directors. During the Annual Meeting, Dr. Peter A. James of College of DuPage delivered his presentation "The Silver-Lining for Business" Dr. Peter A. James is not only a Professor of Business & Entrepreneurship, he is also a certified leadership and executive coach who focuses on helping businesses and leaders transform from average to high-performing. His career has taken him from an officer in the U.S. Army to Sales & Marketing in a major pharmaceutical firm to various entrepreneurship ventures and of course, higher education. In addition to being a leadership and executive coach (and a keynote speaker), Peter also possesses a PhD in Organizational & Management and a Master’s in Business Administration. Tom Thornton

This month's featured Ambassador is Tom Thornton of Your Promo Partners. Tom has been a Chamber member for a total of 9 years. For the past 2 years, he has owned Your Promo Partners and as the owner, he does many things. Primarily, Tom leads a sales team. His company has over 900,000 products that they can print on including apparel, banners and promotional products. He has been in this industry form over 25 years.
Tom is on the Chamber's Board of Directors and is Chair of the Golf Committee. He is also on several Committees in addition to the Ambassador Committee. He is on the Ale Fest, Dinner Dance, LINCT, and Lisle Uncorked Committees. Tom enjoys being an Ambassador because it gives him the opportunity to meet new Chamber members and help introduce them to all the Chamber has to offer. Being an Ambassador has definitely helped him grow his business. Many of the Chamber members he meets become clients and he also gets many referrals from Chamber members.
Tom lives in Lisle and has 3 grown children. He also has a German Shepherd, Gunner and volunteers for German Shepherd Rescue. Tom also enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and camping. Also, he will take Gunner ghost hunting with a group of friends. They've been to Hillview Manor in Pennsylvania, The Murder House in Iowa, the Lizzie Borden House and many others. When Tom was a teenager, he used to listen to Casey Kasem's Top American 40 on the radio every Sunday. At the end of every show Casey Kasem alwasy said, "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars." Those words of wisdom have always stuck with him.

On December 21, 2020, the Lisle Board of Trustees approved a resolution expanding the Village’s Business Relief Program in support of the business community. The expansion includes a 50% reimbursement of fees for businesses renewing on premise liquor licenses for 2021. The program is geared to assist those most affected by the Tier 3 mitigations of the Restore Illinois Plan.
