PACK 25, SHELTON - Last weekend held a Pack meeting outside the Kellogg environmental center. Then the older scouts went on a 3mile hike as the younger scouts did a 1 mile hike.
Pack 25 decorated one of the trees outside of Wesley Village as a Holiday tree. What a great project for our Cub Scouts to work on.
TROOP 3, DERBY - Scouts moved back to Zoom troop meetings, with December's theme of Comics. Each patrol created and presented their own comic strip at the troop's recent online Court of Honor. Since June, eleven scouts earned 27 merit badges and there were 12 rank advancements.
Troop 3 sent 14 Care Packages to our servicemen and servicewomen, and met with Air Force 1st LT Thomas Caruso, who is an Eagle Scout from Troop 27 and worked on staff at Strang Scout Reservation via Zoom. LT Caruso discussed his experiences in the ROTC while at UConn and he discussed his current role as a Missileer.
Scouts also assisted Eagle Candidate Rob Kluk with his project installing mileage markers at the Shelton Lakes Recreation Path. They also cleaned up trash spilled on the roadway by the Onopiak Nature Preserve in Derby.
TROOP 25 G, SHELTON - Troop 25 braved the cold and nasty weather of a recent December weekend at the Edmund D. Strang Scout Reservation on their first overnight camping trip. Not just any overnight camping trip but tent camping when the thermometer dropped to 23 degrees overnight.
TROOP 65, SEYMOUR/OXFORD - One of our Eagle Scout candidates led a project to repair and restripe a section of the parking lot at Immanuel Lutheran Church to the current American with Disabilities Act standards. The Eagle candidate also made sure that everyone remained COVID-19 aware.
