Community Reception

Saturday, January 22 | 3 - 6 PM

The Lynda Fairly Carpinteria Arts Center’s Queen of the Coast Community Reception will be held this Saturday, January 22, 3 - 6 PM, outdoors in the Koch Courtyard. The community is invited to attend this free event and we encourage the public to experience this remarkable exhibit.

Featuring a Meet & Greet with the exhibit artists, live music from the Wrinkled Teenagers, No Host Beer & Wine Bar and Charcuterie Cones from Carp Kitchen, this community gathering will applaud the arts.

“We are excited to celebrate this exceptional exhibit with our community” states Linda Rosso, Executive Director of the Carpinteria Arts Center. We have made great strides in the last 20 years and are thrilled to offer a state-of-the-art venue to showcase our extraordinary artists!”

The Queen of the Coast is an art exhibit, held this year in collaboration with the 40th year of the Rincon Classic, featuring artists from the Carpinteria, Rincon Area, Santa Barbara, and Ventura. This exhibit is a celebration of all things related to Rincon, the Pacific Coast, and the surf culture of Southern California. The Rincon Classic is one of the oldest and most revered events in California’s rich surfing history highlighting generations of the area’s best surfers at the fabled cobblestones of Rincon Point during optimal winter conditions.

The Gallery will be open 12 – 4 PM Thursday through Sunday. The exhibit will be on display January 14 through Sunday, February 20, 2022. Entry is free.

Congratulations to the Gift It exhibit, “People’s Choice” award winner, Bonnie Taylor for being selected by the people in our community.

Her oil painting titled "Retreat" is described as a dramatic winter sunset looking out towards the Channel Islands. The title refers to the bugle call played on military bases at sunset.
