Welcome to January, and Happy New Year! We're happy to have you with us. In this issue, we're starting off with a thank you to our supporters and an outline of our 2022 goals. We are excited for the year to come!
Part of this year's goals is authoring a new Special Report. Every year since 2017, we've produced a long-read Special Report, outlining topics relative to Art & Creativity for Healing. This year is no different. We expect to have a report ready in the second quarter, and in the meantime are giving you a chance to catch up on past Special Reports here.
January brings a full slate of live online workshops, and we're also presenting our 4-week online bereavement series again. You'll want to be sure and check out our workshop calendar for our latest schedule.
Switching gears, transparency is important to us and we're happy to have achieved Guidestar's 2021 Platinum Seal of Transparency. You can find information on our Guidestar profile below.
As you're making plans for 2022, don't forget about our Hats off to Giving Dinner & Auction taking place in May. Attendance is limited to 150 guests and tickets are on sale now. We're also seeking sponsorships and silent auction donations if you'd like to support us even more!
Lastly, in Art4Healing® Certification updates, the fall session of our Virtual Art4Healing® Certification Program is over. Help us say congratulations to our grads! Our spring session is open for registration.
We also have some great International Online Certification Program creations for you to enjoy. Remember, we're the ONLY worldwide provider of Art4Healing® Certification.
Enjoy a great start to 2022!

Our 22nd Year is Here
We have great plans for the year and thank you for your support!

It is hard to believe, but what started as a vision in 2000 is now 22 years old and going strong. We're excited to be entering our 22nd year of supporting emotional healing through art & creative expression for those living in pain, grief, fear, or stress. And, we're glad to have you along for the journey in 2022.
As we look forward to the year, we're pursuing a number of goals. We'll be expanding our partnership with the Orange County Department of Education. We'll be bringing the Raging Colors Program for children and teens to even more students to enhance their mental health with art.
We're also happy to announce an encore presentation of our 4-week Bereavement Series, starting in mid-January. If you are experiencing grief or loss, consider joining this journey of expressing your feelings with art. We also have a 1 session Grief workshop scheduled if you can't make the 4-week series. Just check our workshop calendar for details.
You will notice an ever-expanding series of our 2-hour, live online Zoom workshops on our workshop calendar. More weekend class times give you even more opportunities to enhance your emotional wellbeing with art.
We expect solid demand for our services and programs in 2022. The amount of uncertainty and grief following the pandemic continues to overwhelm people and affect mental health. Art for Healing supports mental health and helps people express their feelings when words fail.
We are always seeking creative ways of funding, including our upcoming Hats off to Giving Dinner & Auction. Individual donations are also important to us. In 2021, our number of individual donations doubled! We are thankful for the support of so many individuals, whose contributions averaged from $20-$250. As you can see, every donation and every dollar counts!

Thanks for your continued support!

Special Report Time is Coming Soon
Catch up on our previous reports, and watch for our 2022 Special Report!
|
|
Since 2017, we've produced an annual Special Report that dives deeper into aspects of the Art4Healing® Method. Our Special Reports are long reads, backed up by research and our 20+ years of experience. They cover timely topics that can be referred back to year after year.
We hope to have our 2022 report completed sometime in the second quarter of the year. We'll be announcing this year's topic soon, so stay tuned.
In the meanwhile, we invite you to enjoy one of our past Special Reports!

Mental health, while often stigmatized, is an important issue in society, particularly in post-COVID times. Tools to address mental health and process mental health issues are needed. This Report examines the mental health benefits associated with creating expressive art using the Art4Healing® Method.
|
|
Our 20 years of observations, combined with study results, suggest expressive abstract art may help participants through any stage and with all types of grief. The Art4Healing® method uses abstract, expressive painting as a healing tool to give feelings like grief a voice when words fail.

How color's energetic nature affects emotions and can heal.
Art & Creativity for Healing participants harness the energy of color to evoke individual healing. This Report explains the nature of color and considerations that inform the Art4Healing® method. Read this informative Special Report now!
|
|
Our observations suggest that youth often adopt ineffective ways to cope with their stress and anxiety. Through this Special Report, we will exhibit how art can help young adults manage their stress, learn healthier emotions, and improve academic performance.
|
|
We’ve collected information from a variety of sources, and the results are overwhelming: exposure to visual art and participation in creative activities creates positive brain changes.
