January Meeting

The Forsyth County Board of Education consists of five members who are elected by district to staggered, four-year terms.

Highlight Of Presentation And Discussion Items

The following items were presented to the Board:

Finance Report -

As of December 31, 2021 the Board learned the system is at 49 percent for the budget year. The Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax revenues for December 2021 were up 18.2 percent from 2020 collections and up 8.77 percent from last month. A financial statement, investment reports, and bond summaries were also shared, as well as a detailed capital projects analysis.

K-12 Virtual 2022-2023 -

Lee Anne Rice, Associate Superintendent of Teaching & Learning, presented information on virtual learning. Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, all kindergarten - 12th grade students seeking virtual education in Forsyth County will be served through the Forsyth Virtual Academy.

Highlight Of Action Item

The following item was approved:

Emergency Connectivity Funds-

The Superintendent recommended that the Board approve the purchase of 7,211 Chromebooks from Dell Marketing LP to be reimbursed through the federal ECF program. This was approved by unanimous vote.
