On behalf of the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, we warmly welcome you to 2022. I would like to thank Chris Buehler, 2021 Chair, and Jill Eidukas, Executive Director, Claudine Rummer, Office Manager, as well as the rest of the Board, Committee Members, Ambassadors, Volunteers and Members for their support and leadership during the past year.
 
2022 hopes to be a year of regrowth, with a refreshed commitment towards the Chamber’s ongoing mission to facilitate, advocate and cultivate opportunities for the Lisle Area Business Community.
 
For most of us, the path our businesses have navigated over the past year has been bumpy, challenging, and frustrating at times. There were countless examples of Chamber Members adapting in ways necessary to persevere. Several of us leaned upon the Chamber for help, whether it was taking advantage of free e-blasts promotions, networking with one another or any other of the many provided resources. Truly, the value and impact of a Chamber membership has been on full display this year.

Undoubtedly, resilience and innovation have become woven into business operations in order to adapt and achieve success. As a community of fellow Chamber Members, we can lean on one another at times, leveraging resources and nurturing beneficial relationships. There were strong examples this past year of Chamber Members collaborating with one another and entering unique and prosperous partnerships. The Chamber Directory is an effective way to connect with your fellow Members and learn more about the variety of businesses that make up our respective membership base.
 
The 2022 Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and staff are eager for the new year. We look forward to resuming some of our traditional fundraising events, as well as developing other value-driven opportunities. We are excited to find new ways to engage with members and offer enriching experiences that benefit you and your business.
 
We hope to hear from you to learn how the Chamber can best support you. We also encourage you to be part of the fun and make the most of your membership. Attend meetings, participate in ribbon cuttings, join us at events, or connect in any other way. Personally, I welcome the opportunity to speak with you to hear your ideas or feedback. Annual Meeting 2021

The Chamber's Annual Meeting & Luncheon was held in-person and virtually on Thursday, December 16th at Four Lakes Recreation. The luncheon was catered by Dinner Ready located in Lisle. The 2021 Board of Directors was recognized for their service this past year and the 2022 Board of Directors was inducted. Christopher Buehler, 2021 Board Chair, spoke about the past year and thanked the 2021 Board. Jon Pratscher, 2022 Board Chair, delivered his remarks on the upcoming new year. Dr. Peter James, delivered his presentation, "A New Mindset for 2022". You can view his presentation below and it is also on the Chamber's YouTube page.
Dr. Peter A. James is not only a Professor of Business & Entrepreneurship, he is also a certified leadership and executive coach who focuses on helping businesses and leaders transform from average to high-performing. His career has taken him from an officer in the U.S. Army to Sales & Marketing in a major pharmaceutical firm to various entrepreneurship ventures and of course, higher education. In addition to being a leadership and executive coach (and a keynote speaker), Peter also possesses a PhD in Organizational & Management and a Masters in Business Administration. He is a certified DisC assessor and holds a PCC credential in coaching.

Ambassador Spotlight

Debbie Pawlowicz

This month's featured Ambassador is Debbie Pawlowicz of DPG Real Estate. Debbie has been a Chamber member for almost 5 years and in addition to the Ambassador Committee, she is the Chair of the LINCT Committee and a part of the Government Affairs Committee. Debbie is also joining the Chamber's Board of Directors in 2022. She enjoys being an Ambassador because of everyone on this Committee and it also helps her stay connected and up to date on what businesses are doing in the area whether they are new or existing businesses. She is hoping to see everyone in person soon!

Debbie is the Principal Broker/Owner of -DPG Real Estate- located on Main Street. Aside from helping clients sell, buy, rent residential and light commerical properties, she manages their $25+million volume business and elevate their succesful agents. This year she will be looking to grow in production as well as recruiting additional successful agents to help them get to their next level. Debbie has been in this field since 1985.

Debbie lives in Lisle with her husband, Steve and has four grown children who live all over the world -- At this point: Rome, Italy; Virginia; Texas and Downers Grove. Cherished time with family all together or any time with friends puts a smile on her face. She also enjoys cooking, entertaining, traveling, movies, reading and volunteering. Her favorite quote is by Columnist Amy Dickinson, "We are not our best intentions We are what we do." Debbie believes if something is truly important to you, you will make it happen. Go one step further than just thinking or talking about it-you will ultimately be so much happier.

The State of the Village address will take place immediately after the January 17th Village Board Meeting. Open to in-person attendance and/or view live on the Village's YouTube channel (available on demand after the 17th) or Cable Channel 10. The Chamber will include a link to the Village of Lisle's State of the Village Address on the Chamber's website after it takes place.

I just can’t believe 2021 is coming to a close as I write this article. Thank you to Christopher Buehler for hosting our Annual Meeting at Four Lakes Recreation on December 16th. This was our first in- person/virtual luncheon in 18 months. The 2021 Board of Directors and Chair Christopher Buehler were introduced and thanked for their service. The 2022 Board of Directors and new Chair Jon Pratscher, Lisle Park District were introduced. Christopher and Jon spoke positively about moving the Chamber forward into 2022. Board of Director, Peter James, Assistant Professor, College of DuPage was our guest speaker. He presented "A New Mindset for 2022". You can view his presentation on our YouTube channel.
 
In the past 18 months, we have emailed information to you our members, about grant and loan programs available at the federal, county and local levels. Also, special promotions for our members, including ideas of how to cope with stress and anxiety personally and in business to over 20,000 emails per month through Constant Contact. If your company has a special promotion please send it to Claudine and she will help you schedule your e-blast.
 
Although all of our committees did not meet in 2021, I would like to thank the committee chairs that continued to meet some in person and virtually. A shout out to Debbie Pawlowicz, Chair of the LINCT, Paula Gleason, Chair of the Ambassador Committee, and Julie LaFond, Chair of the Scholarship Committee.
 
The Board of Directors and I will be meeting soon to prepare a budget for 2022. We are of course ready to bring back some successful past events and bring in new events when it is safe to do so according to the Governor’s mandates. We did host successful events in 2021. The Golf Outing and Turkey Trot Tune-Up 5K were able to go forward as planned. Your renewals and the Chamber's new members help us sustain the Chamber with fewer events taking place. 
 
Thank you for your kind calls and emails of support this past year. We sincerely appreciate it!
