The Publishing Group started in the fall of 2021 to learn more about publishing books, stories, and poetry. The group's goals will evolve as they decide what they want to investigate. They have explored how to get publicity for published works, self-publishing versus getting an agent, websites available for self-promotion, and other topics of interest. During the upcoming year, the group plans to learn more about the actual how-tos and various options for self-publishing and examine sites that publish submissions. A variety of writers attend and suggest new ideas for upcoming meetings.
At the January meeting, the group had three new members. We learned about Audio Books and how someone who would like to read books can audition for a job. Everyone was very interested, so one of the new people will give a report about this next month. We will also have several reports on social media sites.
The Publishing Group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:15AM in the Culpeper County Library conference room. The meeting is open to any writer who would like to attend.
