Milwaukee celebrates first-ever Museum Days January 20-30
VISIT Milwaukee announces the inaugural Museum Days, a special campaign highlighting Milwaukee’s robust museum scene. The promotion entices out of town visitors to experience all that the city has to offer at competitive prices.
This promotional campaign complements Milwaukee Hotel Month, encourages museum trips in tandem with hotel stays. The combination of both campaigns allows visitors to stay and play in Milwaukee at prices much more affordable than in other major cities.
"Our museums are a wonderful asset to the Greater Milwaukee area and to the entire Midwest region," said Peggy Williams-Smith, president and CEO of VISIT Milwaukee. "We're delighted that visitors will be able to enjoy several of these participating museums this month by making a mini vacation out of their Milwaukee trip."

Travel Industry Asks for Federal Aid
More than 600 travel industry organizations, including ASAE, signed on to a letter urging lawmakers to take action on near-term federal policies to restore and grow the U.S. travel industry. The letter, organized by the U.S. Travel Association, points out that the COVID-19 pandemic has cost the travel industry over $730 billion in lost spending since March 2020. Read more.

Read through ASAE Association Insurance Survey results
More than 200 respondents completed the survey, which is strong. One data point that stands out: 550 events were cancelled in 2021, which resulted in a current estimated loss in revenue of nearly $165 million. This is only among a tiny segment of the association community and says nothing of the services lost to members and missed out local economic activity – due in large part to event cancellations. Put all those things together and we’re talking about big-time, macro-economic forces. These data help demonstrate why we need a system in place to ensure our community can provide for employees, members and stakeholders in the future, which is why ASAE is advocating for a pandemic risk insurance program. Read more.
Note: Pay it Forward by supporting your peers who have experienced hardships due to pandemic-related factors. Donate to WSAE's Move Mountains campaign cover the cost of association dues and other resources for those industry partners and association execs who need a little extra help this year. Together, we can Move Mountains - We certainly are #StrongerbyAssociation!

American Associations Day 2022
American Associations Day, March 31-April 1, 2022, is an education and advocacy event to help inform policymakers and urge Congress to support the association community. This event will be held in-person.
ASAE’s Fly In is open to any association professional, industry partner, or leadership volunteer that is passionate about association issues and wants to make a difference, as well as meet and network with fellow advocates from across the country.
Attendees will have the opportunity to attend virtual and possibly in-person Hill meetings with Congressional offices on Friday, April 1. In-person Hill meetings are subject to individual Congressional office policy.
During American Associations Day, participants will learn association policy issues and government relations best practices. During Congressional meetings participants will highlight meaningful ways that associations strengthen society and advocate for association-wide policy issues.
