Master Classes Return to SGS!
Awaken the Beast: Sculpting Animals in Hot Glass with Grant Garmezy
SGS announces the return of its master series glass workshops with Grant Garmezy’s “Awaken the Beast: Sculpting Animals in Hot Glass.” 
 
This four-day, hands-on class will explore the potential of working with hot glass as a sculptural medium. The workshop will focus on using both solid and blown sculpting techniques to create animals and animal-inspired sculptures. Participants will employ a variety of torches and sculpting techniques to bring animal-inspired sculptures to life, including solid sculpting, inside sculpting, assembly of parts, color application, garage use, and - most importantly - teamwork.

Upcoming Warm Shop Classes
Fusing 101 with Laurie Schock
Join Laurie Schock for six weeks of fun-filled afternoon classes at SGS. Students will acquire fundamental knowledge, skills, and techniques for working in fused glass.

Dates: Fridays, February 25 – April 8 (no class March 18)

Times: 1pm – 4pm

Prerequisite: No experience necessary
Introduction To Vitrigraph Murrine
In this class, students will discover the colorful, creative projects that are possible with a vitrigraph kiln. Shannon Lynch will give an overview of crucible options, color choices, and just a few of the possibilities for shapes and designs. Class time includes a demo “pull;” students will load a crucible of their own to be fired at a later date.

Prerequisite: None.
Introduction to Cutting and Fusing with Diane Dito
This introductory level glass cutting and fusing class will give you the required skills to take our more advanced glass fusing classes.
