Supporter Spotlight – Jack Wild
Jack Wild needs no introduction. To OVV’s wide circle of staff, supporters, and families, he is quite simply a cornerstone of their community.
Jack was born in Cincinnati in 1935 and earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Xavier University. Following graduation, he joined Hill Top Research Inc. of Miamiville, Ohio, where he would remain for over fifty years and serve in a variety of positions including Technician, Site Manager, and Vice President/General Manager.
Since his retirement in 2012, Jack has stayed active as an independent consultant and volunteer. He was first introduced to Ohio Valley Voices by Barbara Fitch, who asked him to join OVV’s all-volunteer Garden Group. According to Jack, he couldn’t have had a better, more delightful introduction to the organization.
“It was fun to work on the outside areas and with the Boy Scout troops on their various projects,” he recalls. “We would see the OVV children enjoying all the outside areas. It was great to see them running and playing and talking and doing all the things kids do. The noise they created was great to hear..." (read more)

Student Spotlight – Logan and Noah Turk
Logan and Noah Turk have learned so much during their time at OVV. But above all, they have had fun.
The brothers were born just over a year apart—Logan in January of 2015 and Noah in November of 2016. When Noah was diagnosed with hearing loss shortly after birth, the boys’ parents Brian and Mary Beth Turk started looking for answers.
It was during Noah’s three month stay in the NICU that a nurse told Mary Beth about an early intervention program in Loveland called Ohio Valley Voices. Eager to find educational opportunities for her son, Mary Beth researched OVV that night and called to schedule a tour the next day.
“I brought Noah for a consultation and a tour of the center,” she says of that initial visit. “After meeting Leslie Raulie and Molly Weber and listening to them talk about hearing loss and how OVV could help Noah my response was, ‘Sign me up!’ as well as buying my own ling sound toys to use at home..." Staff Spotlight - Emily Johnson
As OVV’s Executive Administrator, Emily Johnson is the organization’s go-to fixer. Big or small, there’s no problem she can’t solve with some ingenuity and grit.
“One of my strengths is creative problem solving and working at OVV certainly tests that skill!” she says.
Emily grew up in Mason, Ohio and now lives in Kings Mills, Ohio with her husband Jacob. After earning a bachelor’s degree in English Language Arts Education from Miami University, she worked for years in customer service. In 2017, she began looking for a job related to her area of study and found an opening at Ohio Valley Voices.
“I first heard about OVV when I saw the job listing for the first position I held, Program Secretary,” she remembers. “This position was the perfect blend of my experience in customer service and education..." (read more)
