FCS Recognition
The Board had a number of recognitions this month, which included
the 15 staff members who went above and beyond this winter break, the NFHS MCJROTC Naval Honor School, the FCHS engine team for their recent success at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Engine Team Nationals, and the Acting Troupe of Lambert. Congratulations to all!
Finance Report
This month's financial update included year-to-date budget reports, cash accounts holding debt service funds, a summary of investments held, a budget summary for special revenue funds, a roll-forward of capital projects and school food services cash, SPLOST activity for the month of December 2022, and a breakdown of cash held by individual schools. Board Updates
Kristin Morrissey retired from the Board of Education in December after serving for 12 years. During her three terms, FCS grew from 35,920 students to 54,077 students and opened 11 new schools.
Wes McCall (District 1) was sworn in for his second term and Mike Valdes (District 5) was sworn in for his first term. Read more about them
