White Plains Officials Celebrate the Ground Breaking for Hamilton Green at WP Mall Site
|
Hamilton Green, formerly the White Plains Mall, located at 200 Hamilton Avenue, will be transformed into a mixed-use, transit-oriented development.
Hamilton Green will include 860 rental units (78 will be affordable units), accessible open space, as well as a variety of dining, retail and commercial spaces.
|
“The City of White Plains seeks to transform idle, underperforming downtown sites into vibrant, pedestrian-friendly spaces," said Mayor Tom Roach at the groundbreaking ceremony on December 9th.
"RXR and the Cappelli Organization have partnered to reimagine the underperforming White Plains Mall site into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly, sustainable space that offers diverse housing: luxury, market and affordable; public and private public areas for daily enjoyment by residents; and high quality retail and restaurants which will create jobs and provide exceptional culinary and shopping experiences."
"The City of White Plains looks forward to the construction of Hamilton Green which will activate this critical, well-positioned site with people and a variety of uses that will be appreciated and enjoyed by the White Plains community.”

White Plains Library Offers an Immersive Experience in the New Igloo Tech Room
|
|
The White Plains Library recently debuted the New Igloo/Optimum Technology Room which uses Igloo Vision to offer visitors an immersive and interactive experience.
|
|
|
The room allows participants to take virtual trips to places such as Greece, Peru, Nepal and Uganda. Additionally, participants can view and interact with any digital content, including software and tools we use every day like PowerPoint and Zoom.
Virtual Reality is now accessible to all who want to access and experience the benefits of this technology.

White Plains Mayor Tom Roach stated, “The City of White Plains is proud to have partnered with Optimum and the White Plains Library Foundation on creating the Optimum Technology Room. The immersive visual experience offered by this room will be unique and exciting. The City will continue to invest resources in cutting-edge technology that enhances the learning experience for children and adults alike."

White Plains 2023 Summer Day Camps
Summer Camp Lottery Opens January 9th
|

Enrollment in White Plains summer day camps for children in grades K - 8 will be by lottery system this year. Only White Plains residents may apply.
Beginning Monday, January 9th, residents can access the Rec & Parks Camp Central web page for lottery details, camp locations, times, descriptions, application, and fee information.
Lottery Applications for:
Camp Chickadee entering grades K – 1
Camp Panawok entering grades 2 – 3
Camp Quarropas entering grades 4 – 5
Camp Condor entering grades 6 – 8
will be accepted between Monday, January 9, 2023 - Saturday, February 4, 2023.
Those selected through the lottery process will be notified on February 15th.

Love Your Block Applications Available
February 6th through March 20th
Love Your Block is a two-year Cities of Service grant program that brings City leaders and residents together to build stronger neighborhoods, one block at a time.
The program provides mini-grants to residents and community partners to spur neighborhood-driven change and strengthen community ties.
Do you have an idea that will show your block some love? We want to hear it! Beginning February 6th, the Love Your Block Year Two application for new projects will be available online and at various locations throughout the City.
