St. Matthews Episcopal Church in Louisville will be hosting two circles starting in February. One will be on zoom and one will be in-person. Zoom will be every other Wednesday from 3:00-5:00 pm ET starting on Wednesday, February 15th. In-person, at St. Matthews, will be every other Monday from 10:00am to 12:00pm ET starting Monday, February 20th. Registration deadline is February 8th.

Sacred Ground is a film and readings based dialogue series on race, grounded in faith. Small groups are invited to walk through chapters of America"s history of race and racism, while weaving in threads of family story, economic class, and political and regional identity. This 11 part series is built around an online curriculum that is part of Becoming Beloved Community, the Episcopal Church's long-term commitment to racial healing, reconciliation, and justice in our personal lives, our ministries and society.

As The Episcopal Church reckons more deeply with its past involvement in Indigenous boarding schools, the Office of Indigenous Ministries invites all Episcopalians to register to watch Winter Talk 2023, an annual conference that highlights Indigenous and Native American traditions and contributions within the church. Dismantling Racism Training opportunities for the next several

months are posted on the Diocesan website. The Diocese of Kentucky is now offering three different formats: virtually via zoom as a one day session, virtually requiring two evening zoom sessions, or as a one day, in-person event at various locations throughout the diocese. The Racial Healing Commission is seeking additional trainers for the Dismantling Racism Program and recruiting persons who can assist with the technology for virtual meetings. Training for these positions will be provided. A small stipend will be offered. St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church hosts the Empower West Louisville City-Wide Book Club Luncheon on February 9, 2023 with Jemar Tisby, featuring a discussion on his book, The Color of Compromise. Tickets for this luncheon are available here.

Jemar Tisby is a New York Times best-selling author, historian and speaker. His passion is writing and challenging and encouraging the nation and religious institutions to be racially and ethnically inclusive communities.
