Ski Waxing Clinics

All skis need to be waxed on their tips and tails - even the new "skin" skis or original "fish scale" skis! Skate skis need to be waxed their full length. Learn how to do this yourself - it's really not that difficult with the right instruction. And here at Wapiti Nordic we are very lucky to have a dedicated wax room downstairs! Next one is Saturday, Jan 21st @ 12 noon. $20 for Members, $30 for Non Members and includes clinic supplies. Full details here

Sport Chair & Venue Manager Needed for 2024 AB Winter Games

You've probably heard that Grande Prairie is proudly hosting the 2024 Alberta Winter Games! Our Club has been asked to provide a Sport Chair and Venue Manager for this event. Check out our Volunteer web page for more information and a link to the Position Description. We appreciate anyone stepping up to the plate for our XC ski community.

Adult XC Ski Lessons

We have something for everyone! Classic and skate techniques for all levels - "Never Evers", Beginners and Intermediates! Single session lessons or more progressive 3 pack sessions. Congrats to Dannielle and Tina who progressed from cautious "Never Evers" to solid Beginners who skied 3km during their Holiday Beginner Bootcamp 3 pack series over the Christmas holidays! Bravo ladies! Way to embrace XC skiing!

Bunnies & Jackrabbits start this Saturday!

The snow at the lodge will be covered little with Bunnies and Jackrabbits scampering around this Saturday morning as our kids XC programs kick off. Thanks to all the parent leaders who have stepped up to help out - we couldn't do it without you! And our volunteer coaches too!

Seeking Lodge Attendants for remainder of 2023 winter season

Still seeking Lodge Attendants for Sundays, some Saturday and some week days. Duties include helping with ski rentals (training provided) and opening through until March. See the full Position Description and if interested, email our Operations Coordinator for further details.

Chicks on a Roll!

Chicks is in full swing again after the cold weather and the holidays, enjoying several nights under a brilliant full moon! Ladies - please check out the Chicks web page for more information! Mondays and Thursdays - on the snow at 7:15 pm.

It's a great way to get in a mid week ski in the supportive company of other like minded women. Bring a headlamp and shine!

North Dog Trails - please pick up their poop!

Being able to XC ski alongside your dog is a privilege that should not be abused. Unfortunately, every year some pet owners are less diligent than others and risk spoiling the experience for everyone. No one wants poop on the bottom of their skis and yes, we have lots of kids that ski on out these trails too. If you bring your dog, please be vigilant and take responsibility if it leaves anything behind.
