First Pulpit Exchange of 2023:
Decolonizing Christianity, A Lecture and Q&A with
Dr. Miguel A. De La Torre

Please join us on Monday, January 23, 2023, at 5:00 pm for a light meal and from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm for one of our first exchanges in 2023: Decolonizing Christianity, A Lecture and Q&A with Dr. Miguel A. De La Torre, Professor of Social Ethics and Latinx Studies. Consistent with the purposes of his book by the same name, in this lecture, Dr. De La Torre will “seek to demonstrate how dispossessed communities have believed the lie of white supremacy, which has relegated them to be among the least of these of our time.” His ultimate goal is to reach those who are “weary of racism and heavily burdened by ethnic discrimination.”

All are welcome! Please indicate any dietary needs/restrictions and confirm your attendance by emailing [email protected].

Iliff’s Pulpit Exchange Series (supported by the Pathways for Tomorrow
Initiative from Lilly Endowment Inc.) is designed to help ordained clergy and lay leaders interrogate the continued status of racial segregation in American churches. It is also designed to place new foundations for education, dialogue, action, and growth in and between congregations.
