The Promise of Homeopathy: Embracing Our
Vitalistic Tradition to Help Ourselves and Our Patients
With a specific focus on Anxiety and Burnout
Including an Introduction to Analysis Using Cycles & Segments
Amy Rothenberg ND, DHANP (NUNM ’86)
Paul Herscu ND, MPH, DHANP (NUNM ’86)

We will present an introduction to the basics of homeopathic case taking and analysis from our Cycles and Segments perspective, and use the topic of anxiety and burnout to illustrate the power and efficacy of homeopathic care within naturopathic medicine practice. Burnout, anxiety, and associated syndromes are very common diagnoses which are becoming increasingly evident in younger generations and can include troubling psychological and physical symptoms resulting in both short and long-term disability. We hope you join to explore this topic and ignite further discussion beyond the time we have together.

... AND THERE IS MORE
SPECIAL INVITE ONLY
IN-PERSON CASE-BASED EVENTS
Portland: 1/28 || Seattle: 1/29

We are offering intimate and informal afternoon gatherings, open to current NESH students and NESH alumni: contact us to register.

Please join us to discuss cases, work on case analysis, and view patient videos. Our goal is to further assist in the translation of homeopathic study into clinical practice. These will be "mini" versions of our usual in-person clinical class weekends.
HOT OFF THE PRESS: Congratulations Dr. Herscu!

We aimed to develop a bridge study between homeopathic pathogenetic trials (“provings”) and the modern regulatory drug discovery language of clinical trials. The primary purpose of this study was to evaluate the safety of a nosode developed from clinical samples of a COVID-19 patient. Result: there were no serious or fatal adverse events during the study. The secondary objectives were to explore whether a nosode may elicit laboratory signals worthy of further exploration. If the nosode was to be examined particularly for its prophylactic potential during a pandemic, it is reasonable to expect an immune response during the trial. In this study, the mild elevation of IL-6 in all the subjects may be linked to an immune response, as there were no corresponding clinical signs and symptoms of inflammatory or pathological response. A larger placebo-controlled bridge study is needed to explore the induction of biochemical changes that may occur by ingestion of the nosode.

This is an exciting proof of concept study, expanding upon Dr. Herscu’s prior published work and deepening our understanding of homeopathic provings.
