NECC News: January 2023

OUR MISSION | FACILITY SCHEDULE | DONATE

Hello NECC Community! As we ease out of the busy holiday season and into the new year, it can feel a bit overwhelming to jump straight from celebrations to resolutions. This month, before popping bubbles or setting goals, we encourage everyone to slow down and take some time to reflect on the things you are grateful for. For us, that means thinking about how thankful we are for each and every one of you!

Looking back, it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come since last January. With new classes to try, new skills to learn and new neighbors to meet, there is a lot to look forward to in 2023!

Upcoming Dates

  • NECC Closed: December 31 and January 1

  • Spring Swim Registration: February 14 for Members and February 16 for Everyone

  • Summer Camp Registration: February 7 for Members and February 9 for Everyone

January Fitness

Having a hard time fitting fitness into your schedule this week? The holiday season can be stressful as we extend our time and energy towards loved ones, but it’s important to also make time for ourselves. Whether that’s moving to a soothing beat in Gentle Yoga or breaking a sweat in Barre, our On Demand Library makes it easy to workout at whatever time works for you.

Start your 2023 off right by joining us for a dance party every Thursday morning. This class is a welcoming environment for people of all abilities and is filled with moves that are easy to learn and modify. No previous dance experience necessary!

NEW! Toddler Open Gym

Come get some energy out during our toddler open gym. We provide the games, and you and your little ones get to choose the adventures. This is a great way for toddlers to burn off energy, develop their motor skills, and socialize with other children their age.

Every Wednesday from 11am-12pm. Included with NECC membership or our youth drop-in fee. No need to sign up ahead of time, just stop on by!

Learn to Lifeguard this Spring

Do you have a passion for safety? Join our Red Cross Lifeguard Certification class over spring break, March 27th-April 1st. This class prepares the candidate to prevent and respond to emergencies in, on, and around the water. Upon successful completion of this class, candidates will hold certifications in First Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Lifeguarding. Sign up here.

Winter Youth Programs

Dance with Marlon

Our Friday youth dance classes are an engaging way for young dancers to get their groove on! In these classes, students will learn the basics of dance and develop their creativity and expression through movement. It's an excellent way for young dancers to get involved in the world of dance and have a blast doing it.

Art with Anna

Our Tuesday youth art class is specifically designed for young artists. In these classes, students will learn the fundamentals of art, such as color theory, composition, and technique, as well as have the opportunity to explore their own creativity and develop their own artistic style.
