Call for Presentations, Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation Conference 2023


The Prentice Institute is currently collecting submissions for the Canadian Rural Revitalization Foundation (CRRF) conference in June of 2023.


Abstracts for individual presentations, research posters, and panels should be no longer than 250 words in length and should include all the presenters’ names, affiliations, and e-mail addresses.

Rural Refugee Sponsorship Project


In October, the project team at the Prentice Institute launched a national survey of refugee-background newcomers and sponsors in small and rural communities. If you have a chance there is still time to fill out the survey, https://api.legerweb.com/PrenticeInstituteIRCC.


The project team is also conducting a final round of virtual focus group discussions with sponsors, refugee newcomers, and settlement workers in small and rural places. If you are interested in participating you can contact Rachel McNally at rachel.mcnally@uleth.ca

Prentice in the Press


Stacy Haugen a Research Associate with the Institute has written a chapter in the book "Building Inclusive Communities in Canada". Stacey's chapter is entitled “Driving into Nowhere: Refugee Resettlement and Integration in Rural Canada”
