What do I expect in 2023? I am expecting to have bigger turnouts at our chamber events. We will continue to host our iconic events and add some new ones. Keep an eye out for our newsletters, e-blasts and posts on the Chamber's social media pages for the latest updates and news. Feel free to reach out to the Chamber if you have an idea or want to volunteer for an event.
I am also expecting more leads amongst our members, and to have newfound membership growth for the Lisle Area Chamber. We have momentum and timing on our side. Let me explain, regarding our own personal development, most have found balance living with ovid. This correlates with getting out in public and getting ourselves out there more often than the last few years.
I am not alone with my optimism. Jaime Dimon of JP Morgan Chase has downgraded his original thoughts on the imposing recession. The association of realtors own chief economist sees the demand of housing and low inventory in our market as a fair balance for buyers and sellers.
Regardless of what 2023 brings, when in uncertain times, the motivated small business owners come out and take action. Joining the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce is one thing they will do to find new business. If you are a small business and looking to expand your reach, join the Lisle Area Chamber now. And for all of you, I hope you find your optimism and make 2023 a great year!

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT
Paula Gleason
Paula is Marketing Manager for the CPA firm of JCMP & Associates. She is a nineteen- year member of the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce, past Treasurer and past Chairman of the Lisle Area Chamber Board of Directors, Ambassador Committee Chair, Dinner Dance Committee Chair, Government Affairs Committee Secretary and serves on Alefest, Golf, LINCT and Wine Committees. Paula also serves on the West Suburban Community Pantry Advisory Board, is a retired Pantry Volunteer and has Chaired the annual Chefs’ Culinary Challenge/Silent Auction Fundraiser for eight years. As a 31-year resident of Green Trails, Paula has served as the Recording Secretary for the Green Trails Improvement Association Board of Directors for 21 years and contributes monthly articles to their newsletter. Paula is a 16-year Bensidoun USA Supervisor of the summer outdoor French Market in Lisle; is a DuPage County Judge of Election and also serves as a volunteer at the College of DuPage McAninch Arts Center.
Other activities include visiting with her son in Los Angeles, busy lifestyle with her daughter, son-in-law and three active teen-age grandchildren in Lisle, collecting unusual menus, wearing hats and enjoying the arts. Her favorite bit of wisdom is: “Ability may get you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there”. Paula is determined to be a goodwill representative of the Chamber and in that regard, she is visible at most Chamber functions – she’s the one wearing a hat!

The Chamber's Annual Meeting & Luncheon was held on December 8, 2022 at Four Lakes Recreation. The Chamber's 2022 Board of Directors were recognized for their service this past year and the new 2023 Board of Directors were inducted. Jon Pratscher of the Lisle Park District and the 2022 Board Chair, spoke about the past year and introduced the 2023 Board Chair, Lee Ernst of The Lee Ernst Group at eXp Realty who spoke about the upcoming year.
