January 2023 (No. 125)
Welcome to our newsletter. Once a month we will update you with news about David Matero Architecture and our community. We welcome your comments, questions and feedback.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Thank you to our friends, family, clients and consultants
for a great year of providing design and architectural
services all around the state. As we come out of a pandemic
that does not want to go away, we feel blessed doing what
we love.
As we look forward to 2023 we just want to wish you a
prosperous and wonderful year!
Thank you from everyone at David Matero Architecture
On the Drawing Board
After one last meeting at the Kennebunkport Historical Committee to modify the exterior color, the barn addition / house renovation project is underway. An old barn, too far gone to be saved, will be removed for a much more practical garage/entrance/great room. Construction by Wright-Ryan Homes.
Warren Mechanical
The Warren Mechanical Office and Warehouse building is nearing completion. This 9,000 sf building will allow engineering expansion for Warren Mechanical, and much needed storage and workspace. Construction by Optimum Construction.
Georgetown's New South
The loft framing is complete, and Georgetown's New South is taking shape, literally. The view from the loft feels like a treehouse as you look over the treetops to the Sheepscot River. We are hoping to see the entire house framed by the end of this month. Construction by Chartier Building and Remodeling.
Maine AIA / MSMT
As we move into the new year, David will have new responsibilities outside the office. He moves into the executive board of AIA Maine as treasurer and also enters Maine State Music Theatre on the Board of Trustees. You might as well order your season subscription from the MSMT main stage to see Titanic, The Buddy Holly Story, 9 to 5, and Something Rotten, and the concert series. You will likely be hearing about these great shows throughout the year.
Mark your Calendars
Why not battle the winter blues by getting out to enjoy community theater? It is a great way to support your local arts and get out of the house. For laughs, the Doppelbloopers Improv show will be at the Chocolate Church Arts Center Saturday January 21 at 7:30pm. February 10 is the Impossibly Romantic Musical Revue on February 10 and 11 at 7:30pm (directed by Cathy).
