Start the new year with a self-care plan!

Get support creating your new year self-care plan by 1) chatting with a nutritionist to develop a meal plan that fits your needs and lifestyle, 2) meeting with a health coach to plan ways to make small behavioral changes, or 3) contacting the UHS Career Counselors to discuss long-term goals. Whatever your self-care needs, we are here to help you have a great spring semester!

Reminder: Use Your HOF Funds by May 13, 2024!

Did you get an email in the fall semester about HOF funding? Check your HOF Fund balance in your Cal 1 Card account and make sure you have used all of your allocated funds. HOF is available on a first-come, first-served basis through May 13, 2024, or until the pool of funds is exhausted, whichever comes first. Learn more >

The Spring 2023 SHIP Waiver Period Ends of Friday, January 15

Last Chance to Submit a Waiver: All SHIP Waivers received between January 2, 2024, and January 15, 2024, will be subject to a $75 Fee. Waiver applications will not be accepted after January 15, 2024.

If you submitted a waiver for the fall 2023 semester, you do not need to submit a new waiver for the spring semester.

Financial wellness encompasses all aspects of well-being pertaining to finances including knowledge and skills in financial planning and managing expenses. Here are some financial wellness resources available to you as a UC Berkeley student:

UC Berkeley Food Pantry - Emergency food relief resource
Cal Fresh - A nutrition program to help students purchase food. Cal Grant or Work-Study required.

Financial Resources

Center for Financial Wellness - A peer-to-peer financial wellness program
Berkeley Financial Aid and Scholarships Office - Helps students and parents navigate financial aid processes and more.
Basic Needs Center - Provides both short-term emergency relief and long-term support services addressing students’ basic needs.

Get the HPV vaccine

January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month. This is a time to raise awareness about cervical cancer and the HPV vaccination. Nearly 13,000 people in the US are diagnosed with cervical cancer annually. The disease is almost entirely preventable with proper vaccination and regular screenings with a PAP smear and HPV testing.

To get an HPV vaccine, students with SHIP can make an appointment with the Immunization clinic through the eTang Portal. Students with other types of insurance can also make immunization appointments, pay fees out of pocket, and get a receipt for possible reimbursement from their insurance. Learn more>
