MARANA POLICE VOLUNTEERS

The Mission of the Marana Police Volunteers program is to support and expand the services that the Marana Police Department provides to its citizens of the Marana Community. Currently there are approximately 50 volunteers involved in several areas within the Police Department.

Volunteers generously work in many areas, including assisting with citizens patrol acting as eyes and ears for the Police Department and the community, helping with traffic control, along with computer and data entry, fingerprinting, administrative duties and more. The time given by volunteers allows officers and staff to devote their time to the work they are trained to do. The volunteer program is always looking for new candidates who are looking to match their skill to our programs and current volunteer opportunities. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Be 21 years of age
• Maintain and have a valid driver’s license
• Furnish a copy of your high school diploma or G.E.D. and birth certificate
• Successfully pass an extensive interview and background investigation
• Complete orientation training before being accepted into the program

• Polygraph Exam

TOWN OF MARANA- Be prepared for the colder temperatures and prevent damage to your pipes.

Although freezing temperatures don’t happen often in Marana, they do occur and frozen water pipes can be more than just an inconvenience during the winter season.

Freezing temperatures have the potential to damage your pipes and cause significant water loss. Protecting your exposed water pipes, hose bibs and backflow devices can help reduce water lost due to damaged pipes.

UPDATE

This year, Trico is accepting nomination petitions for District 1 (Dove Mountain, Marana), District 2 (Marana, Avra Valley) and District 5 (Three Points, Altar Valley, Arivaca, Sasabe, Green Valley).

One of the many benefits of Trico Electric is that it is owned and governed by its Members. The Board of Directors are Trico Members who have been elected to govern and direct the affairs of the Cooperative.

Trico Members are eligible to run for a seat on the Board and become an advocate for both Trico and their community.

Pima County has won a $30.3 million dollar federal grant to increase internet access across the entire county. The plan, Connect Pima, is to build a 134 mile fiber ring over a 5 year time span. Then, private internet providers will connect customers up to 25 miles out from the ring.

Representatives from all three clubs will be providing information including golfing/membership opportunities and upcoming events/activities. They will also answer questions you may have.

The Dove Mountain Civic Group is hosting a Community Fair for our Dove Mountain Area residents to get to know their area service providers and support systems. This Community Fair will be held on March 20, 2024 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the Highlands at Dove Mountain clubhouse ballroom located at 4949 W. Heritage Club Blvd, Marana AZ 85658. This will be an informal event and residents will be able to circulate around to the various tables during the evening to request literature and ask questions. There will be a short introduction to the event by a representative of the Dove Mountain Civic Group.
