Dr. Mandy Crow will be our guest speaker for the First Wednesday Workshop on January 3, 2024, at The Bridge Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center located at 851 Olive St., Shreveport, LA. The workshop will begin at 11:00 am and conclude at 12:00 noon. The topic for this month's workshop is “Dementia Prevention.” Activities will be available during the workshop for your family member with dementia.

Dr. Mandy Crow is a board-certified primary care physician with over 15 years of experience in healthcare. She has lived her entire life in Louisiana and although she enjoys traveling to new places, she always loves coming back home to Shreveport. Dr. Crow loves the culture and heritage of Louisiana, but most importantly, she values the relationships and people she has here.

Four years ago she opened her own clinical practice, Direct Primary Care Clinic, aLine Health. Dr. Crow is passionate about preventing and reversing chronic illnesses. She prioritizes empowering individuals to take control of their health and invests her time in helping patients recognize the achievable path to well-being. She believes that simplifying the lifestyle message is crucial, and that's why she created VitalOp Wellness, a health and wellness mobile app in partnership with her friend, Alisha Timon, RN. She hopes that we all recognize the power within ourselves to create health and make it a priority in our lives.

The Bridge Alzheimer's & Dementia Resource Center is excited to bring you "Wednesday with Friends," a new activity that replaces the "Second Saturday Workshop." This event will now be held every second Wednesday of the month, and will feature different activities and guests to help you rekindle memories and discover new worlds.

This activity is intended for caregivers and their loved ones who are living with dementia, as well as for family members and other caregivers. It will take place from 11:00 a.m. - Noon. at The Bridge Alzheimer's & Dementia Resource Center, located at 851 Olive St in Shreveport.

For more information, please call 318-656-4800.

We are kicking off the first "Wednesday with Friends" on January 10th with the delightful tunes of the musical trio "Remember When?." This talented group of three women, Patty Krieg, Judy Harlon, and Bobbie Bailey, will entertain you with their beautiful voices and harmonies as they bring to life the music from the 40s and 50s, as well as Irvin Berlin's music. You'll find yourself tapping your toes and singing along to familiar tunes.

"Wednesday with Friends" will take place from 11:00 a.m. - Noon at The Bridge Alzheimer's & Dementia Resource Center located at 851 Olive St, Shreveport.

Our office coordinator and care navigator, Christy Kennedy, is retiring after 55 years in the business world. It has been an absolute honor for The Bridge Alzheimer's & Dementia Resource Center to have Christy work for us in the last two and a half years of her career, and we will miss her.

Please join us in a retirement reception to honor Christy on Wednesday, January 10, from 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm, at The Bridge Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center located at 851 Olive St., Shreveport, Louisiana.

ART can connect us socially, boost cognitive function, stimulate language, reawaken memories, & provide a sense of accomplishment. Join us every Third Tuesday at 10:00 am at Noel United Methodist Church.

This event is open to caregivers and their family members or friends with dementia.

Join us for an informative and exciting session where we will explore various drums, hand percussion instruments, and participate in a drum circle. This event is open to caregivers and their family members or friends with dementia. Drum and Hand Percussion is every fourth Thursday at 2:00 pm at The Bridge Alzheimer's & Dementia Resource Center, located at 851 Olive St, Shreveport.
