2024 PSR Congress Announcement:

March 11 and 12 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas

METRANS and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) are proud to announce the forthcoming sixth annual Pacific Southwest Region University Transportation Center (PSR-UTC) Congress, slated for March 11 and 12 at the UNLV Campus in Las Vegas, Nevada. Researchers may submit abstracts until February 2 at this link.

Dr. Susan Handy Delivers the Thomas B. Deen Distinguished Lectureship at the 2024 Transportation Research Board (TRB) Conference

The Transportation Research Board (TRB) awarded Professor Susan Handy with the Thomas B. Deen Distinguished Lectureship at TRB’s annual conference in Washington, D.C. Handy is the Distinguished Professor of Environmental Science and Policy and Director of the National Center for Sustainable Transportation at the University of California, Davis, a member of PSR. The Lectureship is an honor conferred upon one academic leader associated with TRB every year.

The METRANS Transportation Consortium was established in 1998 as the first University Transportation Center in Southern California. METRANS is a joint partnership of the University of Southern California (USC) and California State University, Long Beach (CSULB).


METRANS' mission is to solve transportation problems of large metropolitan regions through interdisciplinary research, education and outreach. Its three primary objectives are: (1) fostering independent, high quality research to solve the nation's transportation problems; (2) training the next generation transportation workforce; and (3) disseminating information, best practices, and technology to the professional community.
