Warehouse Reliability

Keeping the lights on and the energy flowing depends in large part on the reliability of well-stocked warehouses in each of SEC's four district offices. Providing the Cooperative with necessary, stocked warehouse supplies enables SEC to keep the electricity flowing under the best and worst situations for members.

SEC has three full-time warehouse clerks and one part-time clerk. It is their responsibility to make sure materials are available. They maintain excellent relationships with suppliers, who stock specifically for SEC.

Warehouse Supervisor Watt Gills has worked for SEC for 30 years. He says, “Every day, there are new challenges, such as supply-chain issues, but we remain well stocked and prepared."

SEC Continues to Enhance Reliability

As SEC continues to focus on reliable power, your Cooperative recently installed protective fuses at six substations as a backup defense when there is an abnormal situation. Not only will these fuses protect against faults, but the protection is also designed to limit the size of an outage if a fault occurs downline.

In addition, the installation of these protective fuses allows substation personnel to safely bypass energized equipment for maintenance and upgrades where normally there would be an outage.
