A Southern Baptist Association

From Your

Associational Mission Strategist

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended; but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus”. Philippians 3:13-14

Happy New Year! It’s the beginning of another year and a great opportunity for us to continue to reach people with the Gospel. I am grateful for all that God has done in the previous year and I am looking forward to what God has in store for us this year. I pray for those who may have had difficulties and trials last year to forget those things that are behind and reach for those things that God has for us knowing that God is faithful to bestow His blessings and His guidance, as we follow and trust Him in this new year.

I am looking forward to what our network of churches will do for the Kingdom in this new year. I pray that we will focus on the mission and not allow the enemy to distract us from accomplishing what God is calling us to do. There are several things we are going to do to help our churches this coming year in evangelism and leadership development.

Our first big effort to evangelize will be coming up next Month. We are encouraging our churches to participate in “Saturate Crisp and Dooly County”. We are going to saturate our communities with the Gospel by going to every home and giving them information about how they can have a personal relationship with God. We will do this by our churches going to every home around their location and placing bags which will include a gospel track and the “Jesus Film” DVD. Each church can also have information about their church or even a gift to place inside the bag. Of course, we will encourage those who are participating in this effort to personally share with people your testimony and the good news of the Gospel. We will have an informational meeting where we will give out all the bags and items for this outreach event on Saturday, January 13th at 10:00 am at the Association office. I would like to encourage each Pastor and key leaders to attend! I am praying that all our churches will get involved in this evangelistic effort!

We will also be having Leadership Development training on February 29th at Pinecrest Baptist Church. This training will include breakout sessions in the areas of Sunday School, Discipleship, Youth, Children, Evangelism, Missions, Music, and Women’s Ministry. We will start at 6:00 pm with a light meal and will then have a general session in the Sanctuary at 6:30 pm before our breakouts. We plan for this training to be over by 8:30 pm if not sooner. We will be putting out more information very soon. This training will be beneficial to all our churches as we strengthen the areas of ministries within our churches so we can be healthy Kingdom churches.

I am so grateful to be able to serve this great association. I look forward to worshipping with each church this year. I am also available to speak at any of your meetings or fill in for our Pastors. May God richly bless us as we work together to reach people with the Gospel this year!
