Reflecting on Two Years at the Helm of

Sacramento Republican Women Federated

As my tenure at Sacramento Republican Women Federated (SRWF) draws to a close, I can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. Serving as president for the past two years has been a privilege and an honor, one that I've cherished deeply. It's been a journey filled with challenges, triumphs, and most importantly, the unwavering support of an incredible membership.

When I embarked on this role, my goal was simple: to prioritize the well-being and happiness of our members. I aimed to create an environment that not only championed our shared values but also fostered camaraderie and fun. Through concerted efforts and the dedication of our team, I believe we've achieved just that.

Throughout our journey, we've navigated challenges and discovered countless moments of true brilliance. Even amid upheavals within our organization and the complex political landscape, our board has emerged resilient and more cohesive than ever. Though likened to Robin Hood and her band of Merry Women, initially perhaps not meant as a compliment, that comparison resonates with the profound positivity I see within our group. These trials have fortified our connections, reinforcing our dedication to advancing SRWF's noble cause.

I've often drawn inspiration from those who exemplify compassion and selflessness, much like Princess Diana did in her time. Her spirit of empathy and care for others has resonated deeply with me, guiding my efforts to be there for our members in every possible way.

Our journey has not been without its complexities, reminiscent of the tumultuous times surrounding the British monarchy before the tragic loss of the Princess of Wales. Yet, just as Princess Diana's legacy lives on, so too does the promise of a brighter future.

I am immensely thankful for the incredible women I've had the privilege to serve alongside. Their tireless efforts, unwavering commitment, and genuine passion for our cause have been the driving force behind our accomplishments.

However, as we approach the holiday season, I am acutely aware that this time of celebration can be tinged with a sense of loss and loneliness for some. To those among us who are grieving the loss of loved ones or feeling the ache of solitude during Christmas and New Year's, my heart goes out to you. May you find solace in cherished memories and the warmth of shared moments, and may you discover comfort in the company of friends, family, a caring community, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

I offer a prayer—a humble plea—for healing and strength for those who carry heavy hearts this season. May you find peace amidst the turmoil. May the love that surrounds you uplift your spirits, and may you find moments of joy and connection that soothe the ache of absence.

As I pass on the baton to Dottie Linden, I want to assure our members that this is not farewell, but rather, a new chapter in our shared story. My aspirations for the future, both for myself and for you, are filled with hope and determination. Together, let us continue to build a community rooted in kindness, understanding, and unwavering support for one another as well as the Republican cause.

In humble gratitude and with warm wishes for a season filled with peace, love, and shared moments of joy, I bid you all adieu. Know that the spirit of togetherness and compassion will continue to guide us in the days ahead. Thank you, from the depths of my heart, for allowing me to be a part of this remarkable journey. Onward, together!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2024!

Tabitha

Toys for Troops' Kids is a local military Christmas tradition specifically aimed at our local military children. For several years now our club has collected toys at our special Christmas luncheon with these children in mind. The generosity of our members is amazing. After our party, my SUV was filled to the brim with toys and an envelope with $200!

I wish you could see the look on the volunteer’s face when I said, "This is from the Sacramento Republican Women’s Federation." The fellow said, "You guys help us so much!"

They really appreciate your generosity.

Thank you members for helping make a local military family have a Merry Christmas.

Love, Mary Smothers

2nd V.P. Membership Chair

Greetings to our SRWF Members from your Membership Chair

As my time as Membership Chair comes to a close, I want to thank everyone for making me feel welcome and supported. I initially accepted the position because I like to serve and I thought it would help me learn everyone’s names! It turned out to be more than that as I enjoyed getting to know more of the members, welcoming new members and interviewing some of you for newsletter articles. The Board was very supportive of me as I tried to learn my role and I could not have succeeded without their encouragement. Carol McDonald patiently helped me with so many things from Constant Contact to membership reports. Our club is a great place to find sisterhood and I appreciate the opportunity to serve.

Now is the time to renew your membership for 2024…..
