Welcome to our newsletter. Once a month we will update you with news about David Matero Architecture and our community. We welcome your comments, questions and feedback.
Happy New Year!
The DMA team would like to wish our friends, family, our design and construction team, and our clients a wonderful and prosperous holiday season and New Year! We welcomed new babies and old employees, and met some wonderful new clients. Here's to another year!
Salt Pond Retreat
Framing is underway at Salt Pond Retreat in Blue Hill. Once the perimeter structural wall is installed, the flooring and roofing can begin and another interior stud wall will be constructed later to create a double-thick, nicely insulated wall system. By staggering the studs we greatly reduce thermal bridging. Construction by Jon D Woodward & Sons.
Great Maine Camp
Our second project for these clients, but this time up north past Moosehead Lake and a little over 2,500 sf. We are definitely paying attention to energy details and roof overhangs to accommodate the weather in snow country. With expansive views of Big Spencer Mountain, we are looking forward to detailing this house. Construction to be by Big Country Built.
The Treehouse
So it's not entirely done...but what has affectionally been named the Tree House, the Bath YMCA north classroom building celebrated it's grand opening and the children and staff are enjoying their new space. The interior is in great shape but the exterior needs some work. The site will be completed during the spring. Construction by Frohmiller Construction.
Views from the Job site
Also our second project for these clients, DMA designed a couple iterations of The Skipper due to some site restrictions. And then peat was discovered, which affected the foundation design and the piles. The design process involved the owners and guided the aesthetic to reflect their wishes and desires for their home. Construction by Spang Builders
Christmas party at the William B. Troubh Ice Arena with the Pine Tree Curling Club
