Message to Our TLP Alumni to Ring in the New Year! Let's Stay Connected!

The T2 Center recently hosted a TLP Quick Connects Webinar, and it was wonderful to see representatives from so many of our Cohorts. It reminded us of the importance of keeping connected to each other after you complete your program.

Staying connected with your fellow TLP members after graduating from the leadership program can be invaluable for alumni, offering ongoing opportunities for growth, support, and collaboration. Maintaining these relationships allows alumni to continue learning from each other’s experiences by exchanging insights and offering mentorship, which can be crucial in your personal and professional development. Being part of an extended network fosters a sense of belonging to a community that shares similar values and goals, reinforcing the leadership principles learned during the program. These connections also provide access to resources, opportunities, and a supportive group that can offer guidance and encouragement as alumni navigate new challenges and milestones in their careers. The bonds formed during the program can have a lasting impact, enriching the alumni's professional journey and fostering a culture of lifelong learning.

In 2025, the T2 Center will offer many opportunities for you to stay involved in the program, including our TLP Quick Connects Webinars, TLP Electives, and chances to share your experience and expertise to pay it forward to future TLP members.

As we begin the new year, we invite you to join us for two exciting upcoming events:

  • Friday, January 24th: TLP Quick Connects Webinar - The Power of Email Communication, click here to register.
  • Thursday, February 13th: TLP Elective Virtual Workshop - The Art of Negotiation, click here to register.

We hope to see you all soon and look forward to keeping connected!

Simon's 5 Tips to Build Strong Leadership Presence

Imagine it as the secret sauce that really makes leaders shine. Some folks call it the “X factor,” while others think of it as a special gift only a lucky few possess. But when it comes to being an outstanding leader, there’s one undeniable ingredient that sets them apart: a killer leadership presence. Whether you’re running a small team, dreaming of a political career, heading up a massive corporation, teaching, or even channeling your inner Oprah, this quality acts like a magnet, drawing people’s attention in.

In their book Leadership Presence, authors Belle Linda Halpern and Kathy Lubar define it as “the ability to authentically connect with the thoughts and feelings of others in order to motivate and inspire them to achieve a desired outcome.” If that sounds like a jumble of words to you, Simon offers a simpler definition: It is a unique combination of grativas, basic savvy, and the ability to make others feel both safe and inspired.
