Alumna Spotlight: Ayse Malatyali '20, '10 | |
Nursing was a natural path for alumna Ayse Malatyali, Ph.D. '20, MBA '10, to follow. Her deep sense of caring, compassion and a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives attracted her to answer the call to care.
Today, Malatyali works as an assistant professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Central Florida (UCF). She teaches undergraduate and graduate-level courses while also conducting research on cognitive aging. Her primary research interest lies in exploring the social and behavioral determinants of cognitive health among older adults with Alzheimer’s disease and related diseases, particularly within rural and marginalized populations.
“Witnessing my students’ growth and development remains the most rewarding part of my academic career,” expressed Malatyali. “Looking ahead, I hope that my research evolves into an early prevention program for Alzheimer’s disease, ultimately improving the lives of millions in low-income and marginalized communities.” Read More
