Tire Rack, a Drive Clean Indiana member and Michiana Area Council of Governments Green Fleet participant, celebrated the acquisition of two all-electric terminal trucks with a ribbon cutting on Tuesday, December 10 at their headquarters in South Bend. The successful grant application, written by Drive Clean Indiana, secured $520,392 for the Tire Rack project. This funding was awarded through the Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) Volkswagen Environmental Mitigation Trust - Round 5.
Along with this ribbon cutting, an exclusive private EV test drive event was attended by local law enforcement and municipal fleets. The majority of the vehicle models available for test drives are commonly up-fit for police department use.
