The Importance of Dental Check Ups |
Madame Morrible, a beloved senior shelter pup, recently received much-needed dental care. Her teeth were neglected, requiring a thorough cleaning and several extractions.
Poor dental health can significantly impact a pet's overall well-being.
Annual dental checkups are crucial for identifying and addressing potential issues. While dental procedures can be costly, they are essential for your pet's comfort and health. We strive to provide the highest quality care at the most affordable prices.

WCVC's "Spay It Forward" Program Transitioning To A New Name: Lifeline Veterinary Care Program
The Lifeline Veterinary Care Program is designed to provide subsidized and free veterinary care to low-income pet owners, helping to bridge the gap in access to essential medical services for pets. The program’s goal is to ensure that financial constraints do not prevent families from obtaining critical veterinary care, thereby promoting healthier pets and stronger bonds between pets and their families. This initiative aligns with our organization's mission to deliver compassionate, high-quality veterinary care to all animals, regardless of their owners’ financial situation. By providing services such as spay/neuter procedures, vaccinations, flea and tick prevention, and urgent or emergent surgeries, the program helps ensure pets remain healthy and stay with their families, preventing them from being surrendered to shelters or abandoned due to the inability to afford care.
Goals and Relation to the Organization’s Mission
The Lifeline Veterinary Care Program is central to our mission of providing accessible, compassionate care to all animals. The specific goals of the program are:
- To reduce barriers to veterinary care for low-income families.
- To keep pets with their families by offering affordable and free services, thus promoting the human-animal bond.
- To improve community health through spay/neuter services, vaccinations, and preventive care, reducing the spread of preventable diseases.
- To create sustainable, long-term social change by empowering underserved communities that they can be responsible for their pets' health.
This program serves a critical population: low-income families and individuals who struggle to afford veterinary services. By offering comprehensive care through a compassionate approach, we aim to serve these clients and ensure their pets live longer, healthier lives, while supporting the families that love them.

Featured Adoptable at SFTS:
Kahlua
A spirited and affectionate dog who loves to be on the move! He has a playful energy that he enjoys sharing with his human companions. While he can be enthusiastic, Kahlua may need a slow and gentle introduction to new people and dogs.
He thrives on activity and would love a home where he can enjoy daily walks, playful fetch games, and plenty of opportunities to burn off his energy.
Important Note: Kahlua can be sensitive to sudden face touching. A home with older children who understand his boundaries would be ideal.
